Uh...this wasn't intended to be an actual community for others to join, but since I don't post here anymore, it's up for grabs.

Hello!

I found this livejournal and I thought it looked nice to join! I love Japan and have been there twice for vacation. I currently I am in college and I am getting my degree in Asian Studies: Japan. Most of all I love cooking Japanese food. I also run a website that promotes Japanese food and you can buy and just recently I started adding CIY or cook it yourself kits to the website so if anyone would like to learn how to make something come check out the site at:

www.thinktokyo.com

here is some other things we have there right now:

For the holiday season www.thinktokyo.com has two new sets for everyone to check out. The first is the Okanomiyaki set. If Okanomiyaki has ever been a little intimidating to anyone or if it something you had before and want to make it yourself our kit will give you all the things you need and simple easy directions in English on how to make this wonderful Japanese treat. It also makes a wonderful gift! We only have one set left so hurry!

www.thinktokyo.com is also offer a set of 5 diffrent Japanese breads including green tea, custard, maple, melon and chocolate. They come individually wrapped and preserved directly from Kobe Japan. This would also make a great gift or a wonderful breakfast or snack on a cold winter day! We only have one set left so hurry!

Finally check out our dollar specials on our snack page these make great stocking stuffers, gifts or if you need a snack a nice little treat.

Please come check us out at www.thinktokyo.com and I look forward to reading everyone's post and learn more about Japan!

Happy Holidays

Things are looking up...for now

Well, there's good news and there's bad news. The bad news first, just because I feel like being different today. It seems that the FCS for an MSD is around $480. As you might have read, Aimee told me it was around $405, but she got Violet in Japan, not LA. I'm wondering why there's such a big difference. Yeah, I know it's only $80 or so, but that's still too much for me. I was planning on coming up with $30 or so to get Mika an outfit, so she wouldn't be naked.

Take a look here:http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34245

The good news is, it's seems that I have more in my checking account than I thought. After paying rent, I should have around $200 left! YAYS! =D And, Grandma said she would actually help me out with my doll. *dies* Of course, that horrible guilty feeling is there (even though she offered), but I'll try to ignore it and keep tabs on my doll money. Now, how am I to go about obtaining her? Asking Aimee seems to be a little too....shall we say...expensive, and that's NOT including shipping, ya'll. But I wouldn't feel comfortable telling my family that I'd have to fly to California. >< Wouldn't happen. *sigh* Well, it's obvious that I have to get Aimee or some other shopping service to get her, but I have to consider what they want to do it. Aimee, I know, is quite knowledgeable about ABJD and is trustworthy...but $100!? Seems like no matter where I turn, there is a dilemma.

Why I want an MSD Mika

Well, for starters, they are smaller, but not too small. I didn't realize how big and heavy Ayuka would be when I got her. But MSD dolls don't have so many curves to their body, so making/buying clothes should prove to be much easier. Also, I'm not sure what I was thinking when I thought of Ayuka. I mean, it's not that I don't love her, it's just that I'm not so fond of her wig and make-up as I once was. Ayuka's default make-up is just too...boring.

Now I see that if I want a little girl doll, MSD (or any doll of that size) is the way to go.

Why did I decided against selling Ayuka. For one thing, she's almost two years old and I don't think anybody wants a doll with several scratches on her. The other reason being that I would hate for Mika to be alone, so Ayuka will be her big sister. If I could just get my hands on a black wig and maybe a miko outfit. Ever since I saw Tae (Anais), I've wanted a miko outfit for both Ayuka and my MSD (must find a name for her!).

It looks like I won't be able to get Mika after all. I'll just have to start from zero. I hate to bug my grandmother about it. Besides, she (and everyone else in my family) will discourage me from buying her (that is to say if I ask them for money). I guess I could always start with $20. As far as making more money, I'll have to find a way to sell my drawings/paintings.

As for Mika's personality, I've got that pretty much figured out, though I desperately need a name. I want something that ends in an 'i'. Dont' ask me why, it just sounds cute (like "meow" or something *shrugs*). So, if anybody has any suggestions, let me know.

Sad...

I am really sad right now. I may not be able to get Mika after all. I only have $460 in my checking account and in a while, it'll all be gone, because my rent is $410 a month. How can I possibly save up enough? I don't have a job and I can't sell Ayuka. Besides, even if I did try to sell her, nobody would want her, she's over a year or so old and she has these weird scratches on her body, plus I made the mistake of putting hard-to-get-off velcro on her head. T_T

And what's worse, I'm starting to want a boy doll. When I got Ayuka, I swore that I'd never want another doll, of any kind, especially not a boy doll. But now, I'm obviously starting to change my mind. At first I didn't like Heath, yet now I do. But I also like DOD's Camine. There are really very few dolls I like that are not Volks dolls. Oh, I like so many different dolls, with the right kind of makeup, clothes, eyes, and wigs. But it looks like I won't be able to buy one anytime soon.

However, I might as well keep planning for her. That way, I'll be more than ready. Anyway, I was checking out BlueFairy and I love the little uniforms they have.

http://www.bluefairy.co.kr/shop/step1.php?number=170--> this doll looks to be around 4-5 years old. I'm not really into the younger looking dolls (yet) but she is cute and I'd definately keep her in that wig, not that the other dolls don't look cute either. ^^; The thing is, they are very very small in height, compared to the Tiny Fairy. I'm can't get into the really small dolls, because I feel like they would get lost easily (and I'm sure they do at times, if their owners don't have a safe place for them).

This is a Tiny Fairy-->http://www.bluefairy.co.kr/shop/step1.php?number=112.
